Provides accounting and clerical support to the Accounting Department for effective handling of financial records and operations.

Responsibilities

Compensation: $25-28/hour

 

The Accounting Specialist will be an integral part of the accounting team, reporting directly to the Controller. The candidate must be well versed in accounting policies and procedures and proficient in Excel. The ideal candidate is willing to learn, self-motivated, a team player, and does not mind going above and beyond when needed.

 

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Receive and verify invoices for goods and services.
  • Create and receive purchase orders when needed.
  • Research invoices and resolve vendor discrepancies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Build vendor relationships.
  • Set up new vendors/subcontractors.
  • Process manual checks from branch.
  • Track pending returns and credits.
  • Collect and process payments.
  • Assist with aging report.
  • Manage customer ledgers.
  • Manage customer service agreements.
  • Assist with collections.
  • Process customer refunds as needed.
  • Manage and maintain accurate truck inventories.
  • Post journal entries as needed.
  • Assist controller with month-end duties.
  • Aid operational managers as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in accounting
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of labor laws
  • Bachelors degree preferred
